The Commission on Election (Comelec) has finally set the date for the resumption of its voter registration next month in preparation for the May 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
In an interview, Comelec Chairman Andres Bautsita said the next round of voter registration for the BSKE will be held from Nov. 6 to 30.
He urged interested first-time regular and youth voters to register so they could participate in the next BSKE.
“We want to give an opportunity for all qualified voters to exercise their right of suffrage,” Bautista said.
Participants for the SK elections should be at least 15 years old but not more than 30 years old on or before election day; and is residing in the barangay for at least six months on or before election day.
Meanwhile, those who would like to vote for the Barangay polls should be Filipino citizens; at least 18 years of age on or before election day; a resident of the Philippines for at least one year before election day; and a resident in the place, wherein he/she proposes to vote, for at least six months immediately preceding the elections.
