Tropical Storm “Odette” has maintained its strength, raising tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) in more areas Friday morning (October 13).
At 11 a.m. today, ‘Odette’ was spotted at 45 kilometers (km) west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, with maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts reaching up to 100 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The weather bureau raised tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) in the following areas:
- Ilocos Norte
- Babuyan group of Islands
- La Union
- Ilocos Sur
- Mountain Province
The tropical storm will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains within its 400 km diameter, as it continues to head in the west southwest direction at 24 kph.
TS Odette is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tonight and early Saturday morning.
