Biñan City, Laguna — No less than Director General Ronald “Bato” M. dela Rosa graced yesterday’s graduation of 318 drug surrenderers under “Hakbang para sa Pagbabago” and the Simula ng Pag-asa (SIPAG) in this city.
Some 400 drug surrenders have gone 12 weeks seminar on the SIPAG, a faith-based program for surrendered dependents and their families from 28 villages in this city were presented to De La Rosa by CALABARZON regional director Chief Supt. Ma O Aplasca.
The event was also witnessed by Biñan Representative Marlyn Alonte-Naguilat, Mayor Walfredo Dimaguila Jr., Vice Mayor Angelo Alonte, and barangay officials.
In his message, Dela Rosa said the Philippine National Police (PNP) will renew its campaign against illegal drugs and lauded the graduates and their families for a new life of normalcy in the community.
“May pulis o wala, kung gusto ninyo na talagang magbago, hindi kayo babalik sa droga (Cops or no cops, if you really want change in yourselves, you won’t go back to dugs),” he said. “Mahal namin ang mga taong bayan, ayaw naming masira ang bayan (We love the citizenry; we don’t want the nation destroyed).”
