Cotabato City – The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has installed Dayang Carlsum S. Jumaide as the new head of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), the region’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI) said yesterday.
Regional Executive Secretary Laisa Alamia swore in Jumaide as new DAR-ARMM secretary in a formal rite here last Monday, the BPI said.
Jumaide, outgoing assistant secretary in the Department of Health-ARMM, replaced DAR regional Secretary Amihilda Sangcopan, who resigned last August to serve as chief of staff of Anak Mindanao Party List Rep. Djalia Turrabin-Hataman.
Sangcopan, partylist Anak Mindanao’s 3rd nominee for the House of Representatives, will be taking over the vacated seat of Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, who announced her resignation from her post on October 2, the BPI said.
“We are confident that Secretary Jumaide will serve the agrarian reform partners’ interest in our region,” Sec. Alamia said.
Secretary Jumaide rose from the ranks, starting as a staff nurse at the Datu Alawaddin Bandon Sr. Memorial Hospital in Tawi-Tawi (1993-2000), health information officer in the same province (2000-2006), project officer of the USAID (2006-2010), regional assemblywoman (2010-2013), and as DOH-ARMM assistant secretary.
Municipal and provincial agrarian reform officers across ARMM attended Jumaide’s induction ceremony, turning over the DAR banner and other tributes to the new appointee, the BPI said.
