The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) spotted in the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has affected Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.
Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said that this condition will also bring light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms to Palawan.
He said that the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will have fair weather with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
In a large part of the Visayas, isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected, Mendoza said.
He noted that Mindanao will have cloudy skies and rainshowers because of the ITCZ in the region.
Pagasa has not issued any gale warnings in any part of the country as Luzon will have moderate to rough coastal waters.
In the Visayas and Mindanao, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Pagasa will continue to monitor Typhoon Talim, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
“Talim” is estimated at 850 kilometers north northeast of Basco Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 210 kph, moving northward at the speed of 9 kph.
The typhoon is expected to make landfall in Japan in the coming days.
