Butuan City – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has started assisting 11 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in Agusan del Norte to qualify them for credit assistance under the government’s Agrarian Production Credit Program (APCP) before the end of the year, DAR 13 Regional Spokesperson Joie I. Ceballos said on Wednesday.
The APCP is a convergence initiative involving the DAR, the Department of Agriculture (DA), and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).
The DAR 13 spokesperson said officials and technical men of DAR-Agusan del Norte office are assisting the farmers to comply with the necessary documents for the credit program offered by the government.
The agency is helping the ARBOs to qualify for government credit facility, to meet their financial needs for crop production or agri-enterprise or other livelihood, in an effort to increase more their farm production, Ceballos said.
The ARBOs who qualify the government credit program are expected to receive credit assistance in the third quarter of this year, it said.
In December 2016, more than P17 million credit funds were released to 39 ARBOs benefitting to more than 2,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Agusan del Norte province, it was learned.
