Robber stabs man to death, wounds elderly in QC home
A 51-year-old man was killed while his 77-year-old drinking buddy was wounded when a robber broke into their house in Quezon City Monday morning.
Police identified the slain victim as Fermin Pacifico, while his companion was Reynaldo Ventura. They were attacked by an armed robber inside their residence at 10th Street, Barangay Mariana around 5 a.m. the other day.
The still unidentified robber took from them some P11,000 cash and assorted identification cards, police said.
Investigation said that prior to the attack, the two were having a drinking session in a room when Pacifico said he would just go outside and urinate.
Shortly, with Ventura still inside the room, the suspect, wearing a bonnet and armed with a knife, barged in and declared a heist.
Ventura told police the holdupper was demanding for his wrist watch. But the senior citizen, unfazed by the threat, hit the suspect in the head using his metal cane. This irked the robber and caused him to stab the elderly in the left arm.
The suspect then grabbed Ventura’s wallet from his pocket and then escaped.
Ventura called his wife who saw Pacifico already slumped in their living room, bloodied from several stab wounds.
They rushed Pacifico to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Ventura, meanwhile, is now recuperating from his wound.
