More than 400 farmers in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan were awarded their own lands during the first Pangasinan Farmers’ Festival held by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently.
Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano distributed certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to 477 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs). The CLOAs cover 654 hectares of agricultural lands located in the municipalities of Dasol, Bolinao, Mabini, Burgos, Bani, Infanta, and Umingan.
Mariano assured to continue supporting ARBs by promoting greater farm production and higher income opportunities.
Mariano said: “Our support services aim to make their land more productive by providing them with credit assistance, farm machines and livelihood projects. And for those who have land problems, we offer free agrarian legal advice to farmers.”
Mariano was in Pangasinan Thursday to celebrate Farmers’ Festival where the province’s harvests were showcased and sold to the public in a mini trade fair.
The festival is aimed at promoting local farmers’ products to a wider market.
