Valenzuela sets job fair for PWDs

A job fair for persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be held by the Valenzuela Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on June 16, a local official said.

Rhay R. Sousa, Valenzuela PESO head, said the office will be holding a job fair at the Valenzuela City Astrodome on G. Lazaro St. in Barangay Dalandanan.

The Valenzuela PESO head said they want to give equal opportunity to PWDs, noting that people who are not PWDs are also welcome to attend the fair.

“We are expecting about 100 companies to join the job fair on June 16. Most of the companies invited are hiring PWDs,” Sousa told The Manila Bulletin.

“PWDs need opportunity. They can be productive part of the society if we will help them land a job,” he added.

In last job fair hosted by Valenzuela PESO on May 1, Sousa said 140 applicants were hired on the spot.

Sousa said around 3, 000 jobseekers attended their recent job fair. The job vacancies available, he said, was at 10,334 (local and overseas).

“There are many opportunities. We are inviting all PWDs to come and apply on June 16. We assure equal opportunities will be given to them,” Sousa ended.
