Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – Operatives of the Butuan City Drugs Enforcement Unit (BCDEU) seized Saturday night 85 grams of shabu worth P1 million at a local inn, and arrested a suspected lady pusher in Barangay Leon Kilat here.
Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix, regional director of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) said the shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized at 7 p.m. Saturday in a buy-bust operation at Room 106 of Lucky Inn, which is located on R. Calo St., Barangay Leon Kilat.
The operation also led to the arrest of Roselyn P. Andit, 44, alias “Roslyn Ampaso” and resident of Purok 8, Barangay Taganito, Claver, Surigao del Norte.
“This is the biggest value of shabu confiscated in just one operation by the operatives since the “Project Double Barrel Reloaded” was resumed, the region’s police chief told The Manila Bulletin yesterday.
He said the arrested suspect has been in the city’s watch-list, and was among those who were newly identified as drug personalities in the Caraga region.
A case of illegal drugs is already prepared against the suspect, he said
“I urge the continuous support of the public to the government’s all-out campaign against illegal drugs for a drug-free Caraga region,” said Felix.
In another anti-illegal drug operation, “Project Double Barrel Reloaded” also arrested seven suspects in separate operation in various parts of the region on Friday and Saturday.
Felix said the (BCDEU) set up a drug deal, Friday, with a certain Alison Marmay at Purok 4 in Barangay Obrero here, and seized from the suspect two sachets of shabu with estimated weight of 10 grams, and valued at P118,000.
In Surigao del Norte, Junerey Culta and Noel Cabanda were arrested, Saturday, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan, Surigao City. Operatives of the Surigao City Police Station confiscated two grams of shabu with estimated street value of P23,600 from the suspect.
A loaded caliber-.38 revolver and traces of shabu were found on another suspect Joecart Pareja in Barangay Canaway, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, he said.
Another suspect, identified as Noel Peñanueva, was also arrested by the police operatives when he yielded a caliber .38 revolver and a small pack of marijuana leaves with estimated Dangerous Drug Board Value of P500, the region’s police chief said.
All the suspects are now under the custody of respective operating police units for further investigation in preparation of charges on violation of the Dangerous Drug act.
