A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Agusan del Norte town on Wednesday afternoon, April 19, 2017.
The provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC) in Butuan City reported no damaged or casualty.
In its bulletin, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was recorded at 12:26 p.m. on Wednesday (April 19) and its epicenter was plotted only 6 kilometers (km) northeast of Jabonga town, Agusan del Norte, with a depth of only 5 km.
Intensity III was also registered in the town proper of Jabonga and the nearby municipality of Kitcharao, in Agusan Del Norte; Intensity II was also recorded in Cabadbaran City, Remedios T. Romualdez, and Tubay, all in Agusan Del Norte; and San Francisco, Surigao Del Norte.
Instrumental Intensity lll was also registered in Surigao City, it said.
The tremor was tectonic in origin, the state agency said.
Expecting no aftershock or damage, Phivolcs added.
