Davao City — The provincial government of Compostela Valley has rolled out its Oplan Liwanag, a community-based transformative intervention program initiated by the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council for self-confessed users of illegal drugs.
Pilot sessions started in November last year in Barangay Banlag in Monkayo.
ComVal Governor Jayvee Tyrone Uy ordered the rollout of the program due to the success of the pilot sessions.
Oplan Liwanag launched in Mawag, last Mar. 28, Montevista last Mar. 29 and Pantukan and New Bataan last Mar. 30.
Included in the program is a series of rehabilitation sessions handled by pastors and other church leaders.
Activities under the rehabilitation program include community service, beautification, tree-planting, and garderining to be conducted through barangay action teams.
Livelihood trainings and community responders’ training will also be among the services for the drug patients.
