Butuan City – Around P5.5 billion worth of infrastructure sub-projects have already been earmarked for implementation in Mindanao this year, it was learned yesterday.
These sub-projects will be under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) of the Department of Agriculture (DA), it was also learned.
The full implementation of these projects will be aimed at improving agricultural productivity while improving the living condition of farmers in the country’s second largest island, it said.
Farm-to-market roads (FMRs) make up the bulk of the pipelined subprojects with a total of 46 subprojects amounting to P4.49 billion.
These subprojects are just awaiting the issuance of no objection letters (NOL), which will signify approval, while others are awaiting approval of the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB), or subprojects undergoing validation.
Undergoing implementation are 62 FMR subprojects, while 37 are under various stages of procurement.
