By Freddie C. Velez

Malolos City, Bulacan – Nine individuals linked to the illegal drugs trade were killed after reportedly trying to evade arrest and firing at authorities in separate police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operations in Bulacan from Tuesday until dawn Wednesday.

The Bulacan police said that four suspects were killed in this city, two in Norzagaray, one in Meycauayan City, one in Bocaue and one in San Miguel.

The slain suspects in this city were identified as  Elmer Mangara Pagsanjan alias “Whitey,” 41, single, tricycle driver, of Brgy. San Juan and Francis Vasquez Bondoc  alias “Pantot,” of legal age, single,of Brgy. Caingin.

Both are on the drugs watchlist, authorities bared.

The Malolos police said that after transacting with an undercover police officer, the suspects, apparently sensing the drug operation, drew their firearms which triggered a shootout.

Recovered from the suspects were eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu, a black tricycle without plate number; two loaded .38 caliber revolvers,  aluminum foil strips, a lighter and the marked money.
