Palace to Trillanes: Focus on ‘more serious issues’

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV should dwell on “more serious issues” than create “unnecessary noise” about President Rodrigo Duterte’s alleged multimillion bank accounts, Malacañang said on Thursday, February 16.

Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said Trillanes was merely reviving an old and baseless issue against the President that has already been previously addressed.

For now, the President is focused on nation building and will not be distracted by the senator’s latest action, according to Abella.

“This is a rehash of something that he brought up three days before elections and it’s been properly addressed and I believe it should be left at that. He seems to be creating unnecessary noise for reason which we do not know,” Abella said in a television interview.

“I think the good senator should devote his time to more serious issues rather than these things,” he added.

On the senator’s challenge to the President to release the history of bank transactions, he said Trillanes should defer first to concerned authorities and do “more constructive things” instead.

Trillanes earlier said the President has P2 billion in bank deposits and challenged him to open his bank accounts to the public. The senator ’s allegations against the President were based on documents supposedly given by a concerned citizen

I hope the Filipino voters realize that they voted Trillanes and all they got now are useless
senator whose main focus is siraan lang ang mga taong totoong nagsisilbi sa ating bansa at hindi niya nakikita na wala naman siyang nagagawa sa ikauunlad ng bansa bagkus ay paninira sa mga government servants. It is about time now that the Senate realize what a useless senator he is and about time to devote on investigating him as oppose to him investigating on government officials. The table should be turned around and its about time to investigate him

The oppositor (if there is such a word in the dictionary -as he coined himself in the Aguirre confirmation hearing), is a nuisance senator. He wasted so much of the Filipino’s taxpayer money to bring up issues that will not help the country from its present condition. Why can’t she just join the ranks of those quiet senators like Binay. At least she never gets any flak because she does not make any noise. And please for crying out loud, you are getting a severe case of nose bleed trying to speak in English which obviously you are not comfortable. Speak in your native tonque. Sundalong kanin na Trillanes, you are just a waste of space and occupying a seat in the Senate and you have not done anything that will highlight your career. You are a seasoned ika nga ‘oppositor prima donna’!
