Senator Antonio Trillanes IV should dwell on “more serious issues” than create “unnecessary noise” about President Rodrigo Duterte’s alleged multimillion bank accounts, Malacañang said on Thursday, February 16.
For now, the President is focused on nation building and will not be distracted by the senator’s latest action, according to Abella.
“This is a rehash of something that he brought up three days before elections and it’s been properly addressed and I believe it should be left at that. He seems to be creating unnecessary noise for reason which we do not know,” Abella said in a television interview.
“I think the good senator should devote his time to more serious issues rather than these things,” he added.
On the senator’s challenge to the President to release the history of bank transactions, he said Trillanes should defer first to concerned authorities and do “more constructive things” instead.
Trillanes earlier said the President has P2 billion in bank deposits and challenged him to open his bank accounts to the public. The senator ’s allegations against the President were based on documents supposedly given by a concerned citizen
