Tacloban City – The province of Leyte has extended production and infrastructure improvement assistance to the four towns of this province, a report said.
Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla told reporters that the assistance amounted to P5,372,000 allotted for P2,372,000 for 88 farmer-beneficiaries in three towns, while the P3 million is for the improvement of the provincial farm-to-market roads.
Petilla said that under the More Income in the Countryside (MIC) Rice Cash Loan program, his office has extended financial assistance to 67 farmers in the town of Babatngon, for a total amount of P1,872.000. For the town of Tanauan where there are 18 farmer-beneficiaries, P375,000 was extende as financial assistance. In Sta. Fe town, six farmer-beneficiaries received a total assistance of P250,000.
Petilla yesterday led the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon for the inauguration of the newly concreted provincial farm-to-market road worth P3 million passing the barangays of Alegre and Cabacungan both of Dulag town.
