President Duterte on Monday, February 6 denied that he flew to China to get cancer treatment during the December holidays last year.

Duterte took swipe at an unnamed columnist who made the accusation but instead of answering directly, the President answered in jest.

“Totoo, nagpunta ako sa China, totoo nagpunta ako ng ospital, nagpatuli ako (It’s true that I came to a hospital in China. I got circumcised again),” he said.

However, Duterte admitted that he was late to his events on Monday as he first saw his doctor after feeling pain in his heart.

“Na-late ako pardon me, nag-EKG (electrocardiogram) ako. I was not feeling well. Masakit man ang puso ko (Pardon me for being late, I felt pain in my heart),” he said during the 2017 tax campaign kick-off of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Pasay City.

He said his doctor, Dr. Del Rosario from the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan, came over to conduct the EKG and check his heart for problems.

“Pagdating ni Dra. Del Rosario sa Cardinal Santos, dala-dala ‘yung EKG niya, wala namang diperensya,’ he said. (She came with her EKG but it turns out there’s nothing wrong with my heart),” he said.

However, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, when asked by reporters to elaborate, said the Monday check-up was ‘just a story.’

Regardless if the said rumor is true or not, the President has to think and be deliberate about his legacy in PH history.

With the massive confusion he’s creating among the taumbayan, it’s time that he abandons his unwritten policy of EJK and upholds the PH Constitution he swore to defend.

All his troubles are emanating from this stupidity; valid issues from his enemies will disappear if he upholds the Constitution considering that they will lose their reasons or grounds for opposing or deposing him.
This will resonate not only with the majority of the taumbayan but also with the international or global community of nations especially, if he continues to work for alleviating the horrible conditions of the poorest of the poor and ensure the stellar economic performance of the PH in the global economy.

Soundest reasoning yet. However the PNP must be cleaned out . No reassigning criminals or petty punishments. The police in this country cannot be trusted.

        You’re absolutely right!
The accused PNP officers and personnel must be prosecuted according to law.
With this kind of symbolic punishment being given to policemen accused of serious criminal activities, the PNP’s image will sink, stink further to being despicable to the taumbayan, thanks to Bato and his boss.
They’re just the tip of the iceberg and this only proves that they are untouchable because they have the power and evidence to accuse and prove that their superiors are as guilty as they are.
