Butuan City – The regional office of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC 13) started yesterday the overhaul of key officers of various division and district offices in the Caraga region in an effort to rid corruption while improving its services.
Affected by the reshuffle were key divisions of the DOTC 13’s planning, licensing and inspection divisions, as well as district heads in Surigao City, Cabadbaran City, Tandag City and Butuan City District Agency.
DOTr 13 also announced the creation of a “Regional Law Enforcer Task Force” (RLETF) to complement the regional chief of operations and District Law Enforcement Task Group in various district offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO-DLETG) in the five provinces and six cities in northeastern Mindanao (Caraga region).
Officials of RLETF has been directed by DOTC 13 Regional Director Alexander P. Mama-o to submit a weekly report on ots accomplishments and other programs that will strengthen the transportation laws, rules and regulations.
Some key officers of the LTO licensing division and Licensing Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) were reshuffled effective yesterday.
Among the issues the agency wanted to address with the reshuffle was to put to the operation of fixers at the LTO.
“This is a real change as what President Duterte wanted to implement, we are serious and I warned our key officers and personnel to watch their steps because we will not hesitate to remove them and file administrative and criminal charge if they committed mistake,” stressed Mama-o, in an exclusive interview with The Manila Bulletin yesterday.
