Cop busted in Davao Oriental drug sting

Davao City – A police officer and two others were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI at Camansi, Barangay Badas, Mati City, Davao Oriental  over the weekend.

Arrested and stripped of his badge was Police Officer 1 Kenneth Gervir Y. Casani, assigned at Station 2 of the Mati City Police.

Likewise arrested were  Ricky Namoc Masisay and Jomaira Adar Espina.

Police confiscated three heat-sealed sachets of shabu, marked money and drug-using paraphernalia from the arrested suspects.

Police Regional Office 11 Regional Director Chief Supt. Manuel R. Gaerlan immediately instructed the recall of PO1 Casani’s issued firearm, PNP ID, PNP badge ordered the filing of appropriate charges against the  police officer.

“We are serious in our fight against illegal drugs and we will continue to clean our ranks. We will show no mercy to those police officers who will be found guilty of pushing, using and recycling of illegal drugs,” Gaerlan stressed.

“They have no right to be in the organization, not only will they be dismissed,  they will also face criminal charges,” Gaerlan added.
