The Chief Executive was accompanied by Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Pinol, Secretary of Education Leonor Briones, Secretary Alfonso Cusi of the Department of Energy, and Secretary of Social Welfare and Development Judith Taguiwalo in handing out relief goods to the typhoon-affected locals of Catanduanes.
“I know that we have to be here during this time. Dala ko po ang mga tao na makakatulong sa inyo agad,” the President stated.
Based on the initial assessment of Catanduanes Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC), 90 percent of the province’s total population was affected by the typhoon.
Duterte also paid a visit to the typhoon victims in Pili, Camarines Sur where he vowed to give another P50 million worth of aid aside from the P50-million fund the national government already allotted for the affected citizens of the province.
