Durian was the main feature at the luncheon meeting hosted by Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte at T he Coconut Club in Chinatown, Singapore.
PM Lee took to Facebook his experience, saying: “International diplomacy is indeed dangerous for waistlines!”
Lee also noted that this was his second time in munching durian during the week. The first was was with Prime Minister Najib Razak of Malaysia on December 13, who brought him the Mao Shan Wang durian variety.
Lee also shared that he discussed the economic outlook of both countries, as well potential investments and trade. The Filipino community in Singapore is among the largest in the city state.
Presidential Communication Secretary Martin Andanar also shared with his followers a video he took at the same luncheon meeting.
