Tacloban City – Fifteen athlete scholars from the Leyte Sports Academy (LSA) were awarded by the province of Leyte, a report from the provincial capitol, said.
Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla told reporters that 15 Leyte Sports Academy Scholars were awarded P84,500.00 as their incentive for their success in winning medals in national and international competitions.
Governor Petilla said that his office awarded P10,000 to the gold medalist and P3,000.00 to the silver medalist and P1,000.00 to the bronze medalist.

Petilla claims that LSA, based in this city, is now producing world class athletes. He added that scholar-athletes from LSA are now considered as powerhouses who could compete against the country’s best.
