Tacloban City — The Leyte provincial government gave more than P1.5 million in assistance to projects in two towns of the province.
Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla said P1,591,096 was given to the town of Julita after he led the inauguration of farm-to-market roads worth P500,000 in Barangay Villahermosa and in Barangay Balante worth P130,000.
Petilla said he also gave P130,000 for the construction of basketball court in Barangay Alegria and another P130,000 to build a fence for the Balante Elementary School.
The governor turned over a hog fattening project to the Villahermosa Organic Farmers Association, and marching drums to the Julita National High School in Villahermosa.
He said Julita Mayor Percival Caa received P351,096 as the municipality’s share from sand and gravel quarrying.
In Tabontabon town, Petilla led the inauguration of the P110,000 barangay hall in Barangay Jabong and gave P120,000 for the construction of barangay stage.
He also gave P130,000 for the construction of a farm-to-market road in Barangay Balingasag.
