A six-hour fire broke out in a crowded neighborhood and displaced some 120 families in Pasay City Wednesday night.
According to the Pasay City Fire Marshall Supt. Carlos Duenas, the fire started at the second floor of a house located along Sampaguita St., Barangay 197 Zone 20, District 1,Pasay City at around 7:40 p.m.
Barangay Chairman Boy Garpa said he received a report that prior to the conflagration, a resident was busy cooking dinner when two explosions were heard, while thick smoke billowed.
Duenas said 80 houses made of easily combustible materials were destroyed.
Estimated damage to property was pegged at P150,000.
No fatalities or serious injuries were reported.
Further investigation on the exact cause of the blaze is ongoing.
