A retired policeman wanted for murder has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after almost 25 years on the lam.
The NBI said its agents arrested Rodolfo Gumayao, 64, last Wednesday at the food court of the Terra Plaza in Bacolod City.
The bureau said Gumayao and his group has been involved in gunrunning and drug trafficking in Western Visayas.
He hung out with fellow former members of the Philippine Constabulary in Iloilo, Bacolod and Guimaras.
Gumayao was brought to the NBI Bacolod District Office for booking before he was flown to the NBI main office in Manila where he has been detained.
The NBI is waiting for a commitment order from the court to determine his place of detention.
Gumayao has been at large since the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 54 issued a warrant for his arrest on July 1, 1992 for murder.
