The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided support to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of Batangas, in the validation of houses and infrastructures severely damaged by the two earthquakes that struck the province earlier this month.
DSWD Regional Office-CALABARZON reports revealed that a Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) was conducted in Batangas Provincial Capital that would actually show the extent of the damage caused by the twin earthquakes.
DSWD noted that the validated data will be the basis for a consolidated rehabilitation plan for the affected communities in Batangas.
At present there are a total of 3,114 damaged houses in the province where 432 were said to be totally damaged while 2,682 were partially damaged. (Chito A. Chavez)
