The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has warned those planning to renew their Professional Identification Cards to deal directly with the agency to avoid becoming victims of identity theft.
The Commission issued the warning after receiving reports of groups purportedly offering bogus PIC renewal services online.
According to the PRC, said groups are neither accredited nor authorized by the Commission to do so.
“Professionals are advised to avoid transacting with these unauthorized entities and refrain from providing confidential information,” read its public warning announcement.
“Directly renew your respective PICs at any of PRC offices and officially-designated offsite service centers, through the PRC Online Services,” it further read.
This, the PRC said is in order to avoid identity theft or misuse of information for fraudulent purposes.
PRC Online Services can be accessed at www.prc.gov.ph.
The step by step procedures for PRC PIC Renewal is also in the said website.
