Cebu road rage shooting suspect David Lim Jr. has surrendered to authorities early this morning morning, March 21.
Lim surrendered with his mother at the Police Regional Office 7 at around 2:00 a.m., according to C/Supt. Noli Talino.
Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go had earlier been notified of the planned surrender, after he contacted the family of Lim, who was related to businessman Peter Lim.
Go shared to reporters the text message from Lim’s mother, which read “The family decided to follow your advise to surrender my son David Lim Jr to the regional commander Chief Superintendent Noli Talino tomorrow… Pls help us facilitate his surrender n safety (sic).”
Go was tapped by City Mayor Tomas Osmeña to reach out to the family of the suspect. Go later said Lim had been placed under the watch list of the Bureau of Immigration.
Lim was involved in a shooting incident which left 33-year-old nurse Ephraim Nuñal wounded.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds on his left thigh and right knee as a result of the traffic altercation. (With reports from Mars Mosqueda Jr.)
