Davao City Mayor, Sara Duterte-Carpio will not be taking the entire two full months of her maternity leave — days after giving birth to baby boy Marko Digong “Stonefish.”
The City Mayor told Manila Bulletin that she would only be on maternity leave from March 2 to April 2, one month less than the leave she is due.
“I can’t do my full maternity leave, because I need to sign documents in April that only a Mayor can sign,” Duterte said.
In fact, even during her leave, the Presidential daughter has scheduled her first public appearance since begging off from public events July last year due to her delicate pregnancy to triplets.
The Mayor will have a public appearance on Tuesday, March 21 to hundreds of bar owners, restaurateurs, and proprietors of other business establishments — in order to update the enforcement of laws relevant to their businesses.
