Two students from the Philippine Science High School-Cordillera Administrative Region (Pisay-CAR) ruled the 8th ASEAN + 3 Student Camp and Teacher Workshop for the Gifted in Science (ACGS) held in Beijing, China recently.
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced that Grade 11 student Caleb Joshua Abrazaldo and Grade 10 student Rei Arion Videl Buena bested their foreign counterparts from 12 countries in the robot soccer operation skills.
DOST said that Abrazaldo and Buena had the best performance in the workshop category where they were rated in various aspects such as recitation, speed in disassembling and assembling a soccer robot, and poster presentation.
With the theme “Dreamer, Thinker, Maker” the 8th ACGS saw the participation of 14 teams and nearly 100 junior middle school students and science teachers from ASEAN+3 members, including China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei and Cambodia, while Sweden served as a guest country for this year’s event.
