A robbery suspect who tried to victimize a taxi driver was instead beaten and bloodied by an angry mob in Sampaloc, Manila Saturday night.
Arnel Lubaton, 36 was detained and will be charged accordingly after stabbing and trying to rob taxi driver Rolando Santos.
Lubaton reportedly boarded the Santos’ taxi unit in Banawe, Quezon City.
Upon reaching Sociego Street in Sampaloc, Lubaton declared a holdup.
A pedicab driver and another taxi driver noticed the commotion, and went out to check.
The suspect, sensing danger, stabbed the victim with a pair of scissors in the chest and arm before getting off the taxi.
He was, however, cornered by Santos’ fellow driver and bystanders and mauled before the police intervened and brought Lubaton to Ospital ng Sampaloc.
