Naga City – Commuters or passengers of the Bicol Express of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) will miss their train vacations this Yuletide season after the management of PNR cancelled its operations for December.
PNR OIC Gen. Manager Josephine Geronimo said that in their assessment there is no possibility to have a Bicol-Manila and vice versa trips because there are a lot of things that need fixing, including the repair and rehabilitation of some bridges and rails.
An inspection conducted recently by the engineering department of the PNR with OIC Gen. Manager Geronimo also found out that a lot of houses erected near the railroad have really affected the operation of PNR.
They also discovered that the PNR station in Candelaria was being utilized as tiangge and venue for wedding receptions.
