Groups opposing the burial of the late president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani staged demonstrations Tuesday evening, November 8, to denounce the Supreme Court’s verdict favoring the burial.

Victims of human rights violations took the stage at the Quezon Hall of the University of the Philippines (U.P.) Diliman campus in Quezon City.

The gatherings were also held at the following areas:

  • near Ateneo de Manila University, along Katipunan Avenue
  • at the Battle of Legazpi Monument in Legazpi City
  • UP Baguio Lobby, Baguio City
  • noise barrage at Timog Circle, Quezon City with the Martial Law victims and petitioners
  • indignation rally at the C-Park, U.P. Los Baños

The condemnation of the high court’s decision also reached social media, with the hashtags #MarcosNOTaHero and #NeverAgain being spread.
